Editorial Review for This Is The Place Heritage Park – by Peter Behle
In Short
This Is the Place Heritage Park contains Old Deseret Village, a living-history museum recreating a Utah community in the time just after the Mormon settlers arrived. The park, now run by a nonprofit foundation, is named after the This Is the Place Monument, erected in 1947 to commemorate the centennial of Brigham Young's famous declaration to the pioneers.

We took our kids, ages 7-13, to “Little Haunts” at “This is the Place Heritage Park.” The experience was wonderful for the entire family. The kids enjoyed the petting zoo, pony rides, train ride, making corn-husk dolls, and the nostalgic atmosphere. We could see making it a family tradition. The only thing that I felt could have been improved upon is that, I think, several people came with their trick-or-treat bags, and there weren’t very many treats. Otherwise, though, it was a very fun and memorable experience. The family fun makes up for the lack of treats. I highly recommend it to anyone with kids.
Pros: Clean, lots of fun
